Back to Creedmoor Big Bore Match Results

This was the first Creedmoor match since 2002. We had been discussing shooting another match for two years, and finally got around to it. The targets are constructed of plate steel and held up well for 23 years. A good coat of paint, and they looked like new. They are located at 800, 900 and 1000 yards. No one could remember the old scoring system used so we came up with a new one, therefore these scores cannot be compared to the old scores. We shot our Club Championship Buffalo Match after shooting the 800 Creedmoor target. As a result, we did not have enough time to shoot the 900 yard target, but did shoot the 1000. Shooting conditions were good all day until we got to the 1000 yard target. The low sun angle and the moisture in the air made it difficult to even see the target, and even harder to find it with iron sights. Didn't seem to bother Ralph Cole though. Congratulations to Ralph Cole, Mike Westbrook and Russ Miller.

Weather Conditions

The weather man predicted a good chance of rain all week, but in the end we had a dry day. The sky was cloudy most of the day with the sun popping out every now and then. Temps were in the 60's and 70's with a Southerly wind.
